Welcome to RYE PADEL TENNIS CLUB
Rother Meads Tennis and Games Club was founded in 1922 and now includes Rye Lawn Tennis Club and Rye Squash Club.
Situated beside the River Rother, in the rural outskirts of Rye in East Sussex, Rye LTC is one of the leading tennis clubs in South-East England and enjoys a prominent place in UK amateur tennis. It has eight immaculate grass tennis courts (playable May to September) as well as a number of all-weather courts. The Club organises an extensive Programme of Events each year, which includes the well-known Annual Invitation Tennis Tournament in August and a large number of other events for both adults and juniors.
The Annual Tournament attracts players from many different countries, including entrants from both Harvard and Yale universities in some years. Rye LTC’s annual programme also includes tennis matches against other leading clubs in the UK, participation in the Sussex County and Wealden leagues, and matches against teams from several tennis clubs in Continental Europe and Eire.
The Club has two squash courts and actively promotes squash for adults and juniors. There is also a small gym as well as facilities for table tennis, croquet and padel tennis. Coaching is available for both adults and juniors in tennis and squash.
The constitution of the Club is such that any surplus of income over expenditure must go back into the Club for the benefit of the members. Current membership stands at approximately 450, including both adults and juniors. The membership roll also contains a number of non-playing members, who enjoy the regular social events held at the Club.
The Clubhouse has recently been extended, rebuilt and refurbished to provide new and improved facilities to all members, guests and visitors, while retaining and enhancing the pleasant atmosphere of a traditional English country club.
